Roller Shutter Specified for Surrey Village Hall Refurbishment

SeceuroShield 38 - Our Most Popular Design for Securing Serving Hatches, Kiosks & Bar Areas

We were approached by a client located in Surrey who had an ongoing project where major building work was been carried out on a local village hall and as a result had a requirement for a roller shutter to close off a kitchen serving hatch.

After speaking with the customer and establishing their main requirements and criteria as detailed below we were able to offer advice and solutions to meet their needs.

Main Shutter Requirements

  • To keep cost down a manual roller shutter was the preferred option.
  • The shutter should have the ability to be fitted between the opening so it would have a less obtrusive appearance.
  • Small and compact components so the opening width and height could be maximised.
  • Powder coated white to match the surrounding trim.
  • The ability to lock the shutter without having to secure it to a work surface.
  • Strong and robust design that can take a few knocks and bangs.
  • Lightweight operation so users of all ages can operate the shutter without any difficulty.
  • Simple to install of the main building contractor would be completing the fitting of the shutter at the same time as making alterations to the opening.

  • Seceuroshield 38 extruded aluminium roller shutter installed within a kitchen serving hatch in village hall located in Surrey.

    Solution

Based on the above requirements we initially felt the best solution would be the SeceuroShield 60 however as the opening was only 1100mm high it was felt the shutter box would reduce the useable space so this option was quickly discounted.

As such our alternative solution was the SeceuroShield 38 Roller Shutter as this is made of strong extruded aluminium parts, has spring assisted operation, features a compact box that takes up only 165mm of headroom and reduced size components used to make up the curtain making it ideal for serving hatches, bar areas and kiosks. Furthermore, with pre drilled guides and all the components cut to the correct size during manufacture the SeceuroShield 38 is really simple to fit for the first time installer.

    Customer Feedback

“Thank you for your assistance specifying this shutter. We have just finished installing it and are delighted with the results. In our opinion it was terrific value for money and given the level of use the building now undertakes we are sure it will become a great asset to our village hall and the community that uses it.”
